Guacamole

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Guacamole that’s perfect for any occasion. It’s chunky yet creamy, flavorful, and always a crowd-pleaser!

Yield: 4 Servings

Ingredients:

  • 3 large ripe Hass avocados
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 limes, juiced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1/2 small onion (white or red), finely diced
  • 1 small jalapeño or Serrano pepper, finely diced (remove seeds and flesh for a milder flavor, with gloves)
  • 1/4-1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 plum or Roma tomato, chopped (remove & discard center seeds and juice)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Avocados:
    • Cut the avocados in half and remove the pit. Scoop the flesh into a medium-sized mixing bowl.
    • Use a potato masher or fork to mash the avocados to your desired consistency.
  2. Add the Salt & Lime Juice:
    • Add the salt and lime juice to the mashed avocado to prevent browning and add a fresh tangy flavor.
  3. Add the Vegetables:
    • Stir in the finely diced onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and tomato into the mashed avocado, just until combined.

Serve:

  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips, as a topping for tacos, burritos, or alongside grilled vegetables or rice.

Tips:

  • Storage: If not serving right away, cover the guacamole tightly with plastic wrap to minimize air exposure and refrigerate it for up to a few hours.

Enjoy your fresh, flavorful guacamole!
